The project will use creative arts to break down barriers and improve the wellbeing of diverse communities. Activities will support people with physical and mental health difficulties who are at risk of isolation. Tailored activities in an inclusive environment will help restore self-esteem and help them express their feelings through art.

This project will see Methodist Homes and Father Hudson?s Care offer one-to-one and group support for older people. It will help people stay connected to their local community with opportunities to be active, social and independent. Activities will be shaped by those taking part, and could include social groups, craft sessions, dancing, technology classes and reminiscence sessions. Existing lunch clubs will continue with a community chef offering community cookery lessons.

FTM Scrooge

The project will support adults aged 16 plus from Traveller communities and aims to increase confidence, skills, health and well-being. This will enable them to seek further opportunities and improve integration in their community. There will be a focus on engagement and developing positive attitudes within individuals. Activities such women groups and arts and crafts will be included as well as formal training to address areas such as healthy eating, dietary and lifestyle advice.

The project will provide support, friendship and practical help to families and young children. The flexible, person centred approach will reach families across a largely rural county, to reduce the social isolation where families have limited access to transport. Families are matched with a volunteer and are supported to achieve wide-ranging goals, which can include; signposting to the appropriate services, providing a friendly face, a sounding board, reassurance or a suitable role model.

The project will install new windows in the community library building to make heating the building more efficient.

Home-Start UK

The project will deliver a programme of work placement activities for young people who have disabilities to equip them with new skills and create pathways to employment.

Cultural Destinations

The project will offer inter-generational peer support sessions for young people with mental ill-health to help them develop coping strategies and improve their social and life skills.
