'Dot hills': a celebration of coal mining language and heritage in Nottinghamshire

Music Meltdown (MM)

The project will provide after school clubs for children from families that are refugees or asylum seekers to give them extra support and tuition in maths and English.

The project will train their residents, who are refugees and asylum seekers, in public speaking to enable them to speak out about issues that affect them, highlight their needs and share their experiences. This will support refugees and asylum seekers to develop skills and confidence and give others a better chance in life.

The project will provide fitness sessions and mentoring support for refugees, asylum seekers and migrants to encourage them to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Summer Nottingham Carnival

The project aims to improve confidence and emotional well-being amongst children, teenagers and families who have experienced child sexual abuse. This will give service users a sense of control over their lives, giving them the opportunity to participate in their immediate network and wider community. There will be three roles of support; advocacy, legal and therapeutic. Support will be given to improve coping strategies, address family dynamics and help people positively re-engage.

The Adventures of Frog and Toad

The project will hold a community consultation on local play activity, enabling local people to contribute to a shared vision for play. This will allow local people and community groups to have their say about the activities and events they would like to see and contribute to local citizenship.

The project will provide social and recreational activities for young people to strengthen relations within the community and discourage antisocial behaviour.

The aim of the project is to deliver a range of specialist support services to improve the psychological wellbeing and mental health of adults 18 and over who are at risk of self-harm. Plans will include methods, activities and advice to improve resilience, physical and mental wellbeing and emotional intervention. The project will also look into coping methods and ways to resolve difficulties including signposts to other services to reduce risk to the individual.

The school will provide new gym equipment to enable people to enjoy more physical activities and improve their health and wellbeing.

The projects aims to improve the mental health and well-being of homeless people with multiple needs with one-to-one support. Its person-centred approach will support individuals to tell their story, and express future goals. This will be done by working alongside them to address and overcome barriers impacting their mental health and well-being. They will then be linked to networks and activities supporting mental health.

The project will carry out a feasibility study on the best way to prepare refugees for resettlement. This will enable the refugees to quickly integrate into the community, giving them a better chance in life.

NM17: Looking back moving forwards

The project will set up a children?s holiday club where children can take part in crafts, sporting activities and games. This will help children to meet with their peers and develop social relationships in a creative and fun environment.

The project will deliver an annual LGBT pride festival event including entertainment. This will highlight the services available to local people, improve community cohesion and reduce social isolation.

The group will use the funding to expand its work delivering extracurricular sessions targeting children who struggle socially and emotionally, display poor behaviour, have low self-confidence, or are disruptive and withdrawn. The project will incorporate multi-sports activities and interactive workshops to promote the importance of a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle.

The funding will be used by a charity to form a local committee and run a consultation process about plans to transform an inaccessible local nature reserve so it best meets the needs of the community.
