A new project which will help 330 families break the negative cycle of the Toxic Trio: domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental illness through a six month programme of support. It will help mothers develop stronger bonds with their children to break the cycle and directly support children assessed as most at risk of developing behavioural or emotional problems due to weak mother-child bonds with an estimated additional 489 children who will benefit from the support their mother receives.

This charity will use the funding to develop and deliver a series of one day workshops for local parents who are separating or divorcing. This will provide support for parents who are experiencing problems with separation by helping them look at how their children can be affected by separation and to manage conflict to make a positive difference for their children.

This is the expansion of a project to support refugees and asylum seekers in Bedfordshire facing barriers to resettlement and integration. This will provide support and advice on care services, legal issues and benefits, as well as English tuition and a women?s group and other social activities, to help people improve their quality of life, meet new people and enter employment or education. The project will be delivered by staff and volunteers, including people previously been supported by the service.
