This project will provide educational and social opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in Southend-on-Sea. Accessible activities will be tailored to their individual needs and interest, and will run regularly at various local venues to help people integrate into their community. These will include weekly and monthly sport, exercise, music and drama sessions as well as a weekly friendship group for beneficiaries to meet in a safe environment to socialise.

This organisation will use the funding to provide a variety of social events and activities for the local Roma/Polish community, and to involve the wider community in these celebrations. This will improve integration, create links between the Roma/Polish community and local voluntary groups and improve community cohesion.

This charity will use the funding to host a weekly drop in session for vulnerable local women working in sex work, who face issues such as such as drug and alcohol problems, housing difficulties and mental and physical health needs. This will provide a safe place for these vulnerable women to access advice and support to help them overcome their issues.

Volunteering-on-Sea

The project works with people with mental health issues to help them find and maintain suitable volunteering roles in local voluntary and community sector organisations. The project will provide a project worker who will support 50 people each year with various mental health conditions including ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia.

This primary school will use the funding to convert two unused classrooms into a library and resource centre with a range of books and learning resources to support learning before and after school. This is a continuation and expansion of the project that aims to improve the mental well-being of people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Adjustment Disorder (AD), and/ or Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) in South Essex and London borders.
