The group will carry out research on the increasing incidences of children of African origin being removed from their families as a result of physical abuse, and the role that culture and religion have to play in parents' child rearing practices. This will enable parents to take on an alternative method of parenting, culminating with a sharing event for parents and professionals in the community.

This project will deliver a programme of holiday activities for young people who are experiencing the effects of financial disadvantage, and will challenge issues surrounding antisocial behaviour.

This project will use funding to run a water sports befriending project for young disabled people. This will enable the young people to learn new things and meet new friends.

Working in Essex, this project aims to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of young carers aged 8-19 who are experiencing the impact of caring for someone struggling with substance misuse. There will be a focus on intensive group work, providing a therapeutic environment in which young carers can explore their situation with peers to develop coping strategies. This will help build resilience, self-esteem and confidence.

This project will use funding to create emergency support packages for survivors of domestic abuse who are homeless and require urgent support. This will support people with multiple and complex needs.

The funding will be used to run a mixed martial arts project for young people, both able bodied and those living with disability, alongside personal and social support sessions. The project aims to engage young people in activities that will support improved life chances.

This project will run a programme which will develop a network of diverse volunteers who will share information and expertise and provide peer support through personal experiences and training. This will increase community engagement.

This project will run a one day community event which will include a range of activities, entertainment and chances for people to learn more about how to improve their wellbeing by offering advice and signposting services.

This project aims to provide emotional support to individuals affected by cleft lip or palate in East, Central and South East areas of England. Families of the 1 in 700 babies born with a cleft each year will receive support and advice, helping them cope with the challenges they face and lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

This group will develop a project which aims to support women and children who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. The project will support children and mothers/carers who are housed in refuges. It aims to improve their mental health and self-esteem as well as improve their behaviours and allow them to develop healthy relationships and feel less isolated. The project will provide three Family Support Workers to offer specialist support at a crisis point in the victim?s lives.

Delivered by an experienced welfare rights advice worker, individuals will receive support on entitlements for benefits, debt management, housing and homelessness, immigration, and financial inclusion. With this project, people will have better living conditions which enable them to live safer independent lives.
