Life after Stroke: Past, Present and Future

The project will deliver weight loss support and advice to encourage local people to make healthy life choices. This will include healthy cooking classes, exercise activities, and nutritional advice.

The project will update the fitness equipment in their community centre to give local people opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing and combat obesity.

The project will offer fun dance and fitness sessions for people in South Tyneside to help them improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

The project will run one to one and group sessions to help people from local black and minority ethnic (BME) communities improve their financial capability skills and knowledge. The sessions will focus on energy and welfare benefits advice, debt advice and budgeting, and will help people to access support services to improve their wellbeing.

The project will engage local businesses to provide support and training for voluntary groups in South Tyneside for their mutual benefit. They will develop an accreditation scheme to recognise businesses' good work in the community, facilitate training workshops from local businesses and engage their staff to volunteer for local groups. This will encourage collaborative working and help strengthen the local community.

The project will refurbish the club toilets to improve health and safety and enable older members to continue to enjoy the benefits of bowling.

The project will deliver a programme of leisure activities for residents, including crafts, outings, rookie golf and boccia, a community festival tournament and matches with other housing schemes. This will provide cultural and social activities and events to help reduce the isolation of older people, develop their skills and improve their confidence and wellbeing.

The school will deliver extracurricular fitness, healthy eating and wellbeing activities for children and their families. They will provide training opportunities for children to become ambassadors to help deliver activities and inspire their peers, and encourage children and their families to lead fit and healthy lifestyles.

Arbeia: Our Fort, Our Heritage

The project will deliver dance activities for children, young people and families from disadvantaged communities in South Shields. They will provide a range of dance and creative activities, performances and coaching opportunities to help people develop skills, improve their physical activity and wellbeing, and encourage them to make healthy lifestyle choices.

The project will deliver a series of training/networking events and mentoring sessions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), community groups, and budding entrepreneurs to help them improve their accounting, financial and business processes. They will provide professional support to help groups and individuals improve their infrastructure, ensure their sustainability and reach their potential as social enterprises.

The project will deliver after school sessions at three local schools, in coaching/mentoring, enterprise/employability, catering skills, draa/art and peer group education. This will provide disaffected pupils who are at risk of social exclusion with one to one support, and a bespoke learning programme to help improve their skills, confidence, behaviour and attainment levels.

The project will provide Wi-Fi in the community centre, install two interactive smart boards and sound systems, and purchase new IT equipment. This will improve facilities, provide more areas for training, and enable more people to use the venue for employment searches, training and activities.

The project will provide a combined programme of basic literacy skills, B1 exam and Life in The UK preparation training for black and minority ethnic (BME) women who attend their centre. This will develop the confidence and English skills of participants, to help them deal with everyday situations, build social networks and learn about the English culture to help aid their integration.

The project will set up a weekly evening social club for young people with an autism spectrum condition. This will develop the skills of volunteers and enable participants to learn new skills and activities, socialise and become active members of the community.

Older people will be able to access a free gym, exercise sessions and information packs. The project will develop a new online network to provide support and sign posting to services, health information, and advice and guidance.

The project will install outdoor exercise equipment, safety flooring and a fence surround in the college grounds. This will provide students and the wider community with physical activities and healthy eating advice to encourage them to become more physically active and make healthy lifestyle choices.

The organisation will use the funding to enable their guides to go on a weekend residential, which will involve crafts, cooking and community activities and basic life skills. This will enable the organisation to provide activities for young girls many from deprived backgrounds and lacking in confidence, to develop their skills, confidence and opportunities.

Dare to Dream

The organisation will use the funding to provide support groups for girls and young women aged 11-19 years old with informal activities including cooking, art, team building, sports and educational sessions to enable them to address issues affecting them. This will provide peer to peer support and coping strategies, make referrals to specialist support when required, to improve beneficiaries? confidence, emotional and mental wellbeing.

The project will deliver four 10th anniversary events sharing cooking, crafts and traditions from different cultures and communities in the South Shields and Sunderland areas. This will bring together people from different age groups and backgrounds to celebrate the multicultural and diverse community.

The organisation offers services to women with mental, physical and emotional issues who live or work in South Tyneside. The project will deliver a community celebration day celebrating the achievements of women in the area from a range of community groups including LGBT, BAME and the wider community coproduced by beneficiaries themselves.

The school will use the funding to set up a Schools Christmas Market Day with Carol singing, entertainment, food and refreshments. The event will bring the community together, including local businesses, young people and residents in five local areas, to celebrate entrepreneurial skills and demonstrate the talents of local people through the sale of locally made goods.

The school will use the funding to install play/exercise equipment and improve outdoor facilities for children aged 3 to 8 years old within the local area. This will help aid the physical development of young children, and encourage them to become more active.

The organisation will use the funding to hold an awards event to celebrate the project's ten year anniversary, enable disadvantaged young people to celebrate their achievements, and provide a two week summer school of activities. This will enable beneficiaries to showcase their talents, and provide learning, physical and diversionary activities to improve their confidence, skills and aspirations.

The organisation will use the funding to refurbish their local community engagement room. This will improve the facilities and provide a hub of activities and services to help meet the needs of local residents and community groups.

This will remove barriers for children and young people with special needs to improve their co-ordination, team work, physical skills and strength, to reduce their social isolation and help them reach their full potential.

The organisation will use the funding to purchase video and IT equipment to deliver activities for children and young people including the creation of a video to help young people to voice issues and problems that they face. This will provide positive, diversionary and social activities for young people to develop their confidence, team working skills and aspirations, and enable them to become active members of the community.

This will help provide a single point of access to a range of support services for vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

The organisation will use the funding to purchase bikes and cycling equipment and deliver cycling clubs for pupils, families and the wider community. This will help improve the health and fitness of beneficiaries through outdoor cycling activities.

The organisation will use the funding to deliver weekly lunches and activities, including crafts, exercise, cake decoration, and reading group, for people aged 60 and over at their new community centre caf?. The organisation will use the funding to purchase new IT equipment. This will enable more members of the local BME community to access training, information and services online, and improve their IT skills and employment opportunities.

The organisation will use the funding to set up support groups in Sunderland and South Tyneside for children and young people from BME communities with disabilities and their parents/carers. This will provide play activities, learning support and social activities, information and advice, helping to reduce isolation and improve confidence.

This project which works with young people in the Boldon Colliery, Newtown area of South Tyneside will provide activities from Boldon Village hall to strengthen community cohesion and help young people to do the best they can in education/employment and play a positive role in their family and community. The project will continue to run youth and community activities including a traditional youth club drop in, intergenerational work and a volunteering scheme with local partners and training programmes.

The organisation will use the funding to install outdoor gym equipment and safety surfacing within their school grounds. This will provide pupils and members of the wider community with out of school hours exercise sessions and advice on healthy eating.

The project will support 600 people (including disabled people, their family and carers), experiencing a range of issues, to alleviate the affects of health inequalities, poverty and disadvantage through a wide range of activities to develop core skills, personal skills, improving employability, building family and community relationships and reduce isolation.

The school will use the funding to install outdoor gym equipment to encourage young people and their families to engage in regular physical exercise. The project aims to address obesity related illnesses and improve general wellbeing.

The school will use the funding to deliver creative and exploratory workshops for local women from a range of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The project will provide a creative outlet for women to encourage self-expression, increase confidence and improved community engagement.

The funding will be used to carry out improvements to the camping ground by installing drainage, new hedges and laying turf after clearing away compacted and waterlogged areas. This will ensure that scout groups, community groups and visitors can have safe access to camping and outdoor activities without risk of floods or damage.

The organisation will use the funding to revamp their kitchen and main hall by laying new floor and purchasing new furniture. This will improve the building, making it more accessible and suitable for use by the whole community.

The organisation will use the funding to update its IT system, purchase white goods and new furniture for its community venue. This will enable the group to provide modern and comfortable facilities for community groups and individuals accessing the venue for events and activities, and increase the range of activities available with additional items and facilities.

The organisation will use the funding to install new kitchen facilities in their centre. This will ensure that the kitchen facilities are clean, hygienic and suitable for use, and enable the group to accommodate more people at their community cafe.

The organisation will involve people who are disadvantaged, isolated or unemployed with a boat-building activity that will provide beneficiaries with new practical and employability skills. This will involve people from deprived communities in boat restoration and building in order to encourage wider involvement with the group and its activities, as well as provide work experience, social skills and positive activities for people at risk of long-term deprivation, unemployment and isolation.
