The project will deliver its existing open access youth sessions and through partnership working, expand into the North and Coalfields area. They will work with young people to conduct a mapping exercise and further interpretate statistical data to develop and expand their existing remit to cover emerging needs such as sexual health, staying safe online and drug and alcohol support projects.

The funding will be used to run a range of health-based taster activities for the local LGBT community in the North East, including walking, jogging, Zumba, aqua aerobics and yoga, culminating in a weekend ?Pride Games? event. The project aims to improve peoples? confidence and wellbeing as well as provide an informal support network with help, advice and information from sessional workers, LGBT community groups and service providers on issues affecting them.

The project will deliver a year long volunteer recruitment and support plan to help more people access volunteering opportunities. They will offer training for smaller organisations to improve their policies and infrastructure so they can support, recruit and retain volunteers. They will engage with public and private sector partners to improve the potential for collaborative volunteering projects.

The school will create a peace garden to help improve the emotional wellbeing of children and the wider community and provide opportunities to explore nature and learn gardening skills. The organisation will use the funding to recruit and train volunteers from the LGBT community, to reduce isolation, develop skills and confidence, and enable them to support LGBT events in the North East.

The organisation will use the funding to deliver a new ?Volunteer Passport Scheme? and develop a range of health and training initiatives to encourage local people to volunteer. The group will keep records of volunteer progress, identify training needs, and provide mentoring and work experience opportunities to help strengthen the volunteer sector, and improve participants' employment and prospects.

This will provide cost effective solutions to developing the site and explore the views of young people to ensure it address local needs.

It will strengthen their emotional resilience by equipping them with care, support and resources to deal with the challenges of living with a life-limiting, genetic disorder for which there is no cure.

This will provide a support network for beneficiaries, helping to reduce their isolation through running activities and events.
