This project will support 258 people who face multiple barriers and have complex needs, helping them to move closer to a learning or work destination or successfully into work.

Activities will be provided by this project to remove barriers, engage, assess and offer ongoing specialist and niche support. The project will use key workers based in organisations with specialist knowledge and with links to local communities, to provide support to participants.

The funding will be used by a charity to purchase portable sound equipment that will support the development needs of children attending the pre-school. The project aims to encourage children to become more physically active through dance sessions.

The funding will be used by a primary school to install outdoor fitness equipment within the school grounds. The projects aims to encourage pupils and children in the wider community to become more active, to help their development and improve their physical wellbeing.

Refurbishment of Hepworth Hall Gymnasium

The project will use the funding to run an arts and crafts workshop for people from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The work created will be put on display for the general public and used to promote the workshops. This will provide creative and social activities for beneficiaries, enabling them to learn new skills and help improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The organisation, based in Carlisle, will purchase a range of equipment for their new building which will allow them to start up a new youth club. The youth club will engage young people in positive activities, help raise aspirations and build friendships.

The project will provide a covered cycling and storage area on the nursery grounds. This will increase children?s participation in cycling, improving physical health and fine motor skills.

This project is an event to celebrate the lives of people?s loved ones who have died, by lighting individual lanterns. This will enable people to come together to share the lives of their loved ones with the community.

Tales of a Long Conflict

This grant will be used to develop plans for a project that will support those furthest from the labour market in isolated and rural locations. Participants will include people with disabilities or experiencing mental health or physical health conditions, those unemployed for over three years, lone parents, carers, older people and ex-offenders. The development funding will be used for staff costs, research, partnership development activities and technical advice.

The organisation will use the funding to work with young people and families who live in an isolated community, to have access to a Saturday drop-in centre for 10-14 year olds. This will enable the organisation to engage with young people in the community for regular weekly meetings to improve their social interaction with their peers and with members of the wider community, encouraging them to resist taking part in anti-social behaviour, and become active members of the community.

The organisation will use the funding to further develop its advice, support and counselling service to young people experiencing discrimination because of their sexual identity, and develop peer support networks and volunteering opportunities. This will strengthen the community by increasing awareness and respect among the wider population, and increase the resilience of young people experiencing discrimination.

The group will use funding to take older residents on a trip to Blackpool, to include accommodation, meals and transport. This will provide beneficiaries with the opportunity to leave their single occupancy flats and socialise, with the aim of reducing isolation and promoting wellbeing.

The organisation will use the funding to install play equipment on the school?s site. This will enable the organisation to provide active play equipment to children from the school and the wider community which will aid development of physical and social skills.

This will provide access to discussion and peer support groups where people from the LGBT community can discuss issues related to their gender including transition and pre and post-op issues and challenge homophobia, transphobia and gender stereotyping.

The organisation will use the funding to install fixed play equipment in the school grounds. This will reduce boredom amongst pupils which has led to unsafe play, vandalism, crime and antisocial behaviour.

The organisation will use the funding to purchase and install a multi use games area on the school?s grounds. This will enable the organisation to engage children and their parents in regular after school fitness sessions which will reduce the incidence of obesity within the community and improve the physical well-being of participants.

The organisation will use the funding to run sessions for older men focussing on local football in history. This will enable the organisation to bring together members of the community who would otherwise be socially isolated and help them form mutually supportive friendship groups.

The organisation will use the funding to purchase modular stage units and lighting that will be made available to extracurricular clubs, community groups and pupils. This will enable the group to develop new extracurricular clubs as well as provide equipment for local support services and agencies to use for workshops and advice sessions for families in need.

The funding will be used for activity packs to encourage people to make use of the local park as a recreational space for activities, games and challenges. This will provide educational and fun activities for children from after school clubs, Rainbows, Brownies, Scouts and families within the wider community, helping bring local people together.

These people receive a high level of motorbike training to enable them to safely carry out their role.

This is a projecy by a registered charity and company in Carlisle. The group will use the funding to provide a pilot of training packages for young people that raise awareness around mental health and suicide. This will enable young people to understand the stigma around these issues and be able to talk openly to people about it.

This is the continuation of an existing project which aims to support young people aged 16-25 years who are experiencing homelessness and other related issues in Carlisle.They may well suffer from other issues including unemployment, leaving care, offending, suffering from addiction issues, mental health issues and learning difficulties, which can impact upon and be impacted upon by their housing issues.

This is a project by a voluntary organisation in Carlisle. The organisation will use the funding to run African drumming workshops aimed at older people in the local area. This will aim to reduce loneliness and isolation and improve wellbeing through social activity.
