This project will work to improve the wellbeing, aspirations and employment prospects of young people and adults living in Salford who are furthest away from the labour market. It will look at the physical and physiological barriers to participation and reduce them through tailored support and guidance. The activities will be inclusive, accessible and aimed at the whole community to support them in their own journey of personal development and into employment.

The funding will be used to recruit local children with asthma to join a community choir designed to improve the condition through singing. The project aims to reduce the use of NHS services and the severity of the children?s asthma.

The group will carry out a number of sessions for young people in the local area, including, music, homework and healthy living sessions, whilst also renovating the kitchen and installing a bike rack. This will provide the users of the centre with opportunities to learn new skills, socialise and run various different clubs from the hall.

The funding will be used by a community organisation to provide a range of guidance and support around having babies and parenting. The project aims to support local families by increasing the training available to their volunteers.

The funding will be used to run a programme of food preparation, nutrition and budgeting courses for isolated women who have mental health issues or are at risk of post-natal depression. The project aims to improve their mental health by reducing isolation and engaging them in community activities.

The funding will be used to run an inter-generational film project exploring the issues and concerns of older people in the local community. The project aims to strengthen the community by bringing together older people alongside young people to complete the project.

This project runs step-by-step support for homeless people in Salford to access and sustain accommodation and independent living. The work will run in five stages including; stabilising people in immediate need, assessing individual needs, identifying temporary accommodation, supporting people to work with housing providers to find long term accommodation and then secure and maintain the tenancy.

This group will use the funding to deliver singing, recording and performing sessions created for and by elderly members of the community. This will improve engagement, socialisation and have a positive impact on their wellbeing.

The funding will be used to run workshops for local people, primarily those suffering from mental ill health and worklessness, to learn timber framing skills. The project aims to improve wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem, raise aspirations and increase skills through participation in a social activity.

The funding will be used by a voluntary organisation to support children with special educational needs from the local orthodox Jewish community to attend a summer camp. The project aims to reduce social isolation, and help people to access activities to improve their wellbeing, and provide respite for their families.

The funding will be used to address the issues of discrimination again the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) community by holding a picnic to bring together different parts of the local community to change misconceptions.

The project aims to improve outdoor facilities at the school, and provide stimulating activities to help improve behaviour and aid the children?s development.

The funding will be used by a secondary school to run yoga and martial arts training sessions for girls who are reluctant to take part in competitive sports. The project aims to improve their health and wellbeing by increasing their activity levels, reducing the risk of obesity.

The project aims to improve their practical skills and understanding of fashion as a career option, as well as give them an opportunity to get involved in community activities by creating the costumes for a local carnival.

This will include workshops focusing on cyber bullying and social media, as well as giving them an opportunity to improve their basic skills. The project aims to improve young people?s employment prospects.

The funding will be used by a voluntary organisation to continue to run their craft group and to hold an event for International Women?s Day. The project aims to enable the group to continue to meet, taking part in creative activities that prevent social isolation.

The funding will be used by a voluntary organisation to improve their facilities and provide day trips for their members. The project aims to improve and make safe their outdoor area as well as provide the equipment for the group to prepare refreshments for visitors.

The funding will be used to provide a variety of classes and trips that will help people gain new skills and increase their confidence and self-esteem. The project aims to reduce social isolation and encourage people to make significant life-style changes.

The funding will be used to run advice, guidance and training programmes for people who may not be accessing existing services. The project aims to provide tailored support in areas including finances, debt and budgeting.

This project provides carers with support and respite to reduce isolation and improve their health and wellbeing. The funding will be used to run a weekly support group where carers can share their issues, receive complimentary therapy, listen to talks by health and welfare professionals, participate in crafts activities and attend trips.

The funding will be used to deliver an Awareness and Mentoring Programme for volunteers, support staff, educational workers, parents and friends who support people with disabilities aged 12 and over. This will allow them to share knowledge and experiences of good practice of working with people with disabilities and improve skills to enable participants to provide support to meet the individual needs of those they care for.

This project will deliver twice weekly job clubs and exercise sessions to unemployed people in the Broughton and Ordsall areas of Salford, and recruit and train volunteer mentors to support the club attendees. This will improve the employment prospects of participants by equipping them with the skills necessary to apply for jobs and present themselves effectively at interview.

The project will use the funding to deliver a 'young people's scholarship' to 15 people who are either in care, care leavers, disabled or disadvantaged. The training course will enable them to qualify as members of The Reporters? Academy, receiving employability, work-readiness, media and film-making training.

The aim of this continuation project is to provide a range of community engagement activities for disadvantaged people living in the area. Issues of low confidence, aspiration, self-esteem and low educational achievement will be addressed through learning, volunteering, employment, social and health opportunities. SAYF will provide intergenerational, family, formal and informal learning in a safe, welcoming environment which aims to nurture respect and build trust, while offering a fresh start.

The school will buy and install a tree trail, play platforms and a climbing wall within the school grounds, and will include biodiversity landscaping in the design. Children will be able to use this fun and safe space all year round, before and after school. They aim to improve the children's fitness and wellbeing through participation in physical activities.

The school will set up an outdoor play area for use by pupils and as the base for an after school club. This will be an important update to the school facilities and will mean pupils can take part in positive afterschool activities.

Chabad Retreat Centre in Conwy will use the grant to renovate their centre so they can offer more sessions to their service users and make the space more useful for the wider community. This grant for ?5,000 will fund plastering, lighting, a disabled toilet, carpet and a launch event.

This project will offer woodworking skills sessions for local Jewish boys. This will provide creative practical skills workshops for Jewish children from disadvantaged families to improve their life skills, confidence and self-esteem.

The organisation will use the funding to develop them as a befriending group for Jewish and other people in the local community with enduring mental health difficulties, by recruiting new volunteers and delivering a volunteer training programme to acquire skills such as practical perspectives on mental health, self-awareness, boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding. This will enable the organisation to build capacity and develop their capability to engage with more beneficiaries.

The organisation will use the funding to refurbish its premises to enable it to continue to deliver and expand its out of school time activities aimed at improving the health and fitness of Orthodox Jewish boys who are prevented from accessing mainstream provision because of religious and cultural restrictions and experience of bullying. This will improve the health and wellbeing of participants and reduce their sense of social isolation.

The group will use the funding to provide therapeutic music sessions for young refugees and asylum seekers. This project will improve the mental and emotional health of beneficiaries' and improve self-esteem.

The organisation will use the funding to expand their weekly youth group sessions for young Jewish men to address the impact of high levels of deprivation on young people in the local community. This will increase culturally appropriate provision to address issues around education, employment and training and provide advice and support.

The organisation will use the funding to deliver holiday play schemes for primary school aged children in three locations during the school summer holidays and Autumn half term holidays. This will improve the life chances of the children by diverting them from nuisance behaviour and potential gang involvement, and improve their health and wellbeing by providing structured physical activities.

This will strengthen the community by increasing understanding and respect between the generations, and improve the life chances of participants by developing skills in IT for older people and prospects for employment for younger people.

The organisation will use the funding to set up and run a community law centre to give free advice focusing on employment and support allowance, personal independence payments, tax credits and appeals against sanctions for people in need in the local community. This will enable the organisation to offer free legal advice focusing on welfare benefits law to address the increased demand for these services which are no longer funded by Legal Aid.
