This project will reduce the isolation and loneliness experienced by older people in day and residential care settings by setting up reading groups, shared reading sessions and reminiscence sessions. The range of activities, run by local volunteers, will support residents to share past memories helping them to engage with the people around them.

This project ?The Tremanna Film Project? will through an expressive arts approach, support looked after and accommodated young people (aged between 10 ? 19) to improve their social and practical skills, as well as develop greater levels of self confidence and esteem. Activities will support a collaborative effort with the local development trust and a professional film making company which will result in the creation of two short films.

This group will use the grant to continue and develop their existing Family Support Service with a dedicated family support worker and manager providing tailored support to families, including carers, who are struggling to cope with the impact of a family member having poor mental health.

This group will support people with a learning disability who have experienced or are experiencing domestic/sexual abuse and who have not been able to access appropriate services. Activities will be tailored to address the effects of the abuse with two new posts of advocacy workers supporting/empowering survivors to consider their current circumstances and find alternatives, helping them undertake therapeutic services otherwise closed to them and also to join support groups.

Hippodrome Silent Film Festival (HippFest)

The project will benefit 130 older people over three years.
