Creating Natural Connections in Cumbernauld

This group are a locally run children?s and youth project managed by volunteers who provide educational, social and recreational activities in Cumbernauld. The grant will fund the group for a year so that they can continue and enhance the service on offer.

This group run a regular youth volunteer group carrying out community work and outreach activities. The funding will be used to run the youth group and for marketing materials. The grant will also be used for panel committee meetings, two conferences, a visit to Tulliallan Police College and a visit to Police Scotland HQ.

This registered charity provides support to severely disabled and terminally ill children in North Lanarkshire. The project will fund fitting out costs for the groups new hub and safe space including full disability access and a sensory area.

This organisation provide social and recreational activities mainly for residents of Westfield Road Sheltered Housing complex. The funding will provide chair aerobics classes, three day trips for members, monthly entertainment from singers/musicians, and games and arts and crafts resources for the club.

This group provide two services a School Uniform Bank and a Baby Bank. This project will fund rent costs for a storage area, shelves for storage, boxes for storage, washing costs for donation items and some office costs for stationery.

Lanarkshire Therapy Support

This group support people with long term health conditions. The funding will see the organisation deliver a functional aging assessment programme to 100 local residents over the age of 50 which will identify results in strength, mobility, balance and flexibility. This information will allow the project to provide advice and information to the residents on how they can stay active and mobile for longer without the fear of overload or injury.

Cornerstone House Centre Ltd

The group will use the funding to provide and co-ordinate a dedicated family support service (family hub) for families in the Cumbernauld area. A wide range of activities will be delivered with creative play, arts & crafts, skills development, health promotion, specialist information/signposting surgeries, volunteering opportunities, and the use of facilitated learning circles to encourage peer-to-peer support and learning between groups of parents and children.

This school will use the funding to provide fixed play equipment for their grounds.

This group run a drop in cafe between 10am-4pm two days a week, which provides social support to isolated and vulnerable adults who may be frail, elderly, carers or have mental health issues. The funding will be used to expand this to provide a programme of health promoting activities such as dance, board games and sport at the drop in. They will also expand the provision to three days a week.
