This project will deliver a series of horticultural activities for young people aged 11-16 with special needs and will include outdoor cookery sessions, growing and harvesting food and cultivating land. This will engage them in positive activities and provide an opportunity for them to learn new skills, improve confidence, self-esteem and raise awareness of the importance of healthy eating and nutrition.

This project will develop the charity's brand which will include a new website and social media strategy. This will enable the organisation to improve the online experience of people seeking work, raise their profile within the local area, build capacity and reach out to more job seekers who are currently unaware of their service.

This project will purchase a Zumos programme, a confidential online support service for pupils. This will provide them with access to a range of information and guidance with the aim of improving their mental health, building resilience and increasing self-confidence.

The organisation will run interactive musical remediation sessions for people who live in care and nursing homes. This will improve the social and emotional life and general wellbeing of these older people and build on pilot sessions already run by the organisation.

The organisation will use the funding to work with ten young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and have mental health issues. The project will provide coping strategies, arts qualifications and employment skills. This will provide young people with the coping strategies and skills to improve their mental and physical wellbeing and give them better chances in life.

The organisation will use the funding to run a programme of healthy lifestyle activities and family community events and teacher training skills to run healthy lifestyle clubs and family festivals. This will provide the teachers with the skills to run and sustain an extra-curricular sports club, healthy eating and nutrition and community festivals to engage the wider school community to address problems with poor health behaviours, obesity and related health problems.

This project aims to reduce the number of young people not in employment, education or training (NEET) by providing support to those who are at risk of becoming NEET. They will focus on hotspot areas and target participants from priority groups. These include the long term unemployed, lone parents, people with disabilities, BAME communities and those with housing and substance misuse issues. The project will work with high profile employers, with some work placements already agreed.

This charity will use the funding to run a youth enterprise project working with young people who are disadvantaged to provide materials for memory boxes to aid people with dementia. This will help young people such as young carers, offenders, people leaving care and those excluded from school the opportunity to learn new skills and work with new people.

This project brings together a partnership of organisations across Hampshire to identify and support young carers. Through a co-ordinated approach they will work with schools and families, provide respite opportunities and raise the voice of young carers in policy and practice at a local and UK-wide level, which will in turn improve their wellbeing and educational attainment. They will also work with statutory services and national organisations, and deliver community outreach and training to young people.

This will provide safe and accessible access to an outdoor play area which will help the development of young children with special educational needs by improving their physical and mental health and well being.

The funding will be used to run a new project providing support to people living with dementia using sensory memory boxes. The project will be based at North Hampshire Hospital and Southampton General Hospital and will work with patients in hospital wards. As the project develops it will be rolled out to reach dementia sufferers in the community. Memory boxes will contain items from local social history collections and volunteers will work with patients to explore these in the sessions and trigger memories.

The organisation will use the funding to redevelop its old playground in order to help promote healthy lifestyles for the children in the school and encourage them to take part in more regular exercise to remain fit and healthy. This also applies to the children attending the extra curricular provisions provided in the school. The play area will provide a free alternative to paid activities during the holidays for children from poorer backgrounds or troubled families.

The funding will be used to provide outdoor fitness equipment for the recreational ground. This will provide an outdoor fitness area for a wide range of ages and abilities in this rural village.

The funding will be used to train adults to become mentors and young people to become community champions in health and wellbeing. The project plans to engage with harder to reach people to offer advice on healthy lifestyles and signpost to relevant services. The project aims to reduce health inequalities and promote wellbeing.

The funding will be used to purchase iPads and software. This will enable the organisation to introduce ICT to pre-school learners, improve life skills and rationalise the way learning and progress is monitored.

The funding will be used to deliver art workshops for adults with mental health issues, to include puppetry, installation art and drama. This will provide beneficiaries with the opportunity to express themselves and their feelings with their peers through the medium of art. The project aims to help reduce isolation and promoting wellbeing.

Heritage of Older People in Basingstoke

The organisation will use the funding to train their existing and new volunteers in order that they have the appropriate skills to support those who are leaving prison back into employment. This will build capacity for the organisation by providing training for volunteers in prison security, engaging with prisoners, advanced knowledge of Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and best practice in disclosure.

The organisation will use the funding to expand and deliver a number of community based activities to support the visually impaired; including training volunteers to offer advice and guidance at weekly drop in centres, demonstrations on community aids, support meetings and health and ITC sessions. This will enable clients to access support on a daily basis to assist with independent living, accessing employment and further education and reducing isolation.
