This project will develop creative sessions to support people with dementia, providing social activities to improve the health of people with dementia, their carers and people who are socially isolated.

This project will work with the local community to create a large painting on the old hockey pitch which is currently condemned and an area of wasteland. This will engage the community in artistic activities with the aim of regenerating and improving the local area, restoring community pride and reducing anti-social behaviour.

Herne Bay Umbrella

The group will expand its current gardening activities for people experiencing mental health issues and those with learning disabilities. The funding will be used to rent a local kitchen to give people the opportunity to learn how to cook healthy meals. This will give people a sense of pride and enable them to lead more healthy lives. It will also help raise awareness and break down some of the stigma associated with mental health.

The funding will support Social Enterprise Kent CIC (SEK), a project that aims to provide intensive and ongoing practical employment support for older people (aged 45 and over) particularly in areas of deprivation or for the most disadvantaged to gain skills and employment. This will include moving people into sustainability volunteering, education, training or employment. It will provide support for the creation, organisation, management and sustainability of social and small enterprises.
