The organisation will start up a monthly support group for people with Macular Degeneration. This will provide an opportunity for people to share information, receive information and advice, and build new friendships.

The project will provide intensive, targeted, wrap-around support for people facing housing insecurity enabling them to move closer to the job market or into work.

Organisational Development

This grant will be used to develop plans for a project to support people who are out of work and have an unstable housing situation to gain new skills and employment. The development funding will be used to undertake consultation, publicity, research, training, and to develop specialist materials for employability training and domestic abuse support.

The organisation will use the funding to promote and publicise their family support service, through holding a promotional event, creating a DVD and paying for the services of a press and PR consultant. This will raise awareness of the group?s services and increase the number of volunteers working for the group, so they can expand their support for vulnerable families and help more people in need.

The funding will be used to carry out an audit amongst local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups to identify what they are doing well and what issues there are in the local communities. This will enable local VCS groups to review and improve how they work and to provide support to more local people.

Improvement to heating and disabled access

The organisation will use the funding to hold a series of events to celebrate their 25th year, including an audio project, a sensory event and a conference to influence policy makers, practicioners and providers. This will enable people with profound learning disabilities and complex needs to connect in joyful developmental activities and will promote greater awareness and understanding of their needs.
