This group will expand their project, aiming to contribute to a stronger, happier local community by breaking down barriers of language and cultural differences through increasing the skills and confidence of migrant women so they can become engaged in the community. Language barriers are the key issue between understanding between parents and schools, therefore group sessions will provide interactive learning, build confidence, and trust by getting to know school staff and other people in the community.

This organisation will use the funding to pilot an additional evening of youth activities aimed at young people with hidden disabilities, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism. This will engage them in positive activities, raise aspirations and reduce social isolation.

This group will continue to develop its work to reduce social isolation in older people by offering a variety of services, enabling older people to remain independent in their own homes. The group will provide a variety of activities, including a volunteer befriending scheme, social events and transport for the least mobile and most socially isolated.

The funding will be used to run a variety of creative projects including aerosol art, dance activities and a theatre trip for pupils who have social, emotional, mental health and behavioural difficulties. The project aims to provide a diversion to anti-social behaviour and raise the aspirations of young people.

This project will provide laptops that will enable the organisation to improve their outreach support, by working from a variety of locations within the local community. This will enhance their advice service by reaching more people, including those based in isolated areas or those with limited mobility, and providing staff with online training opportunities.

This project will continue to provide a range of therapeutic activities and access to self- help resources to support to female adult survivors of sexual trauma. This will provide them with a range of support mechanisms, including peer support to improve their confidence, self-esteem, emotional well-being and reduce social isolation.

As one of the most deprived areas in the South East of England, the new community centre in Cliftonville, Margate will improve the quality of life for the whole local community, promoting the principles of personal development, wellbeing, community engagement and social inclusion.The organisation has excellent community links; a wide range of organisations and community groups have expressed interest in using the facility for meetings, youth activities, exhibitions, learning, keep fit and an over 60s club.

Made In Margate: Supported Residencies Tom Thumb

This project will provide resources to continue and expand the running of a drop in centre for people with disabilities, their families and carers. This will support the development of key services for people with disabilities including help and support with housing, welfare and benefit advice and signposting to social services and other public services to improve the quality of their lives.

This project will work in partnerships with Medaille Trust and WantsumArts to run language and arts themed sessions to support women who have been trafficked and have little or no English language skills. A 10 week course including role play, music, songs, and ESOL materials will be run to improve their confidence, language skills and social integration.

This project will create a new digital survey service for the local community to use to share their opinions on services and activities with the Town Council.

This school will use the funding to develop the garden area by resurfacing it and installing storage and play equipment. This will provide an outdoor play area which will allow the children to improve their physical strength, emotional and communication skills and improve their personal development.

This charity will use the funding to continue running radio broadcasting activities for young people within their community. The sessions will focus on children who speak English as a second language and young primary school children who lack confidence and communication skills. This will provide young people from local schools with improved confidence, communication and broadcasting media skills, improving their future chances in life.

This grant will be used to develop plans for a new community centre to be built at Margate Caves which is a former tourist attraction that is being brought back into use. Once up and running the community centre will be used by many local groups who currently don?t have suitable facilities to hold their activities.

The organisation will use the funding to purchase sport equipment and pay for a sessional worker so they can offer sports activities and healthy eating sessions for pupils and their parents. This will improve the physical health and wellbeing of participants.

The organisation will use the funding to run a one day event to inform and advice parents and carers of children with learning disabilities on the impact of transition into adult care services. This will enable the organisation to raise awareness and signpost parents and carers to appropriate adult services for their children after they have left school and alleviate the associated isolation and emotional wellbeing issues that can coincide with this transition.

This will provide a community event to raise awareness of diversity within the communities, improve community cohesion and break down barriers and address issues linked to social isolation amongst young people who are migrants.

The organisation will use the funding to provide therapeutic arts and crafts workshops and access to self help resources to support adult female survivors of sexual trauma. This will support people who have been sexual abused by providing activities and access to resources to improve their self esteem and provide coping mechanisms to address their complex emotional issues.

The funding will be used to provide tailored advice, information and guidance to people with learning disabilities and their families in Thanet. The project aims to help people with learning disabilities to improve their health and wellbeing, build new friendships and increase independence. Community hubs will be set up where people can share their experiences and get support. Regular social groups and workshops will be held including CV writing, exercise classes, reminiscence sessions and lunch clubs.
