Oxford Chamber Music Festival 2017

This project will work in partnership with cancer charities to produce and deliver a theatrical comedy performance to address the emotional and practical issues linked to breast cancer. This will raise awareness of health and social welfare issues, and will include audience participation sessions and the provision of relevant signposting information. This will explore the emotional impact of a breast cancer diagnosis.

OX7 Festival

This funding will be used to create a film, a range of digital media tools and information packs, which will be used as part of a national public awareness campaign to address the issue of silent bullying of children with cancer in schools. This will tackle negative attitudes and promote increased understanding of the issues they face, with the aim of reducing bullying and supporting children to re-integrate back into main stream education.

This project will work with parents of children aged up to five to prevent childhood obesity. It will be delivered in partnership with local authorities in Telford and Leeds, with expansion into Sheffield. Trained volunteers will help parents develop skills to provide a healthier family environment, with extra support for marginalised communities facing barriers to accessing existing services. There will also be support for families with shopping and budgeting, and signposting to additional health services.

Schools and Children s Programme

This charity will use the funding to refurbish the kitchen area in the memorial hall, including dry lining of the walls and ceiling upgrade. This will provide appropriate kitchen facilities to extend the range of activities and events being held at the village memorial hall for people within the local village community.

The group will use the funding to research through social and mainstream media the views, experiences and needs of people who have experienced stalking. This will use the findings to support the beneficiaries and raise awareness within the wider community.

This Parish Council will use the funding to install a trampoline and safety fencing on its community playground. This will encourage local children to play actively which will address issues of obesity that are evident in the wider community.

Restoration of the chancel roof of St Mary's Church, Witney

The organisation will use the funding to install a hearing loop and PA system in the village hall. This will enable the organisation to provide for the elderly users of the hall, improving the group activities they undertake and helping them to engage in meetings.

This will provide appropriate fitness equipment which is accessible to children within the wider school community, and improve the general fitness and health and tackle issues linked to being overweight.
