Hicks Farm - A Gateway to the Stour Valley

This group will use the funding to deliver storytelling workshops for people who are living with mental health problems, or those who have experienced domestic abuse or are fighting addiction. This will improve their mental health and wellbeing and reduce isolation among participants.

Regular activity sessions will be funded for local, vulnerable women. This will improve their mental wellbeing by offering a safe space to socialise and improve their skills.

Who Let the Gods Out 3

This is a project by a charity based in Dorset, supporting beneficiaries in Hampshire. The organisation will run a programme of rehabilitation activities for women who are ex-offenders and recently released from prison. This will establish outreach services in Hampshire, including practical and personal support services and equine therapy to build self-esteem and confidence.

This independent and youth-led project will help disabled young people to take an active role in communities and volunteering programmes. The project will enable disabled young people aged 13-25 who lack confidence and independence to grow as individuals, realising their importance and improving their overall sense of well-being. Through 500 hours of direct youth work support per year, they?ll be empowered to share ideas and influence how the project is run.

The group will provide mentoring and opportunities to develop work skills for ex-offenders and people who have been homeless. The project will provide a dedicated space with a variety of meaningful activities, improving the health and wellbeing of those involved, and supporting them to reintegrate back into the community as healthy and confident members of society.

Fitness equipment will be installed on the school grounds with this funding. This will increase the children?s? participation in physical activity.

Hengistbury Headlines - Engagement and audience development project

They will expand its community choirs supporting people living with and affected by cancer. The project will raise public awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of singing, and help dispel the image of those living with cancer as victims. The group will hold a large public event bringing together choirs across England and produce a CD. This will show ways to recovery that are non-medical, fun and uplifting, and that there is life and joy to be had after a cancer diagnosis.

The group will use the funding to train up to 50 volunteers, offenders and ex-offenders in various carpentry and building work to remove barriers to employment. This will enable the beneficiaries to learn new skills and build personal resilience to seek out a positive future.

Based at its new training and food services hub in Bournemouth, the project will work with vulnerable adults who have a disability to help them learn new skills and gain greater personal independence. Activities will include cooking and bakery and the chance to gain recognised qualifications that will help people gain paid or voluntary work and further training. One to one support will be provided to support people to become more active in their community and increase their employability.

This project will see BYMCA expand its two main programmes TEAM and Young Citizens. TEAM is a multi-cultural peer support and youth action group who meet to tackle the issues facing young BME groups. Young Citizens provides volunteering and community action opportunities for 11-16 year olds with economic, social and housing deprivation, to encourage participation in community action.

The group will use the funding to deliver after school activity clubs for the benefit of young people living in the local area. This will encourage young people to exercise, form new friendships and engage in positive activities.

A new project by Bournemouth People First to help people with learning disabilities to live a better life and be more connected to their communities by removing barriers to engagement and strengthening the capacity and capabilities of their supporters to be the link to achieve their goals across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. A network of volunteers will be matched with individuals identified through LifeLink events. Around 170 people will be supported who are at risk of isolation from their community.
