Wassail Young Associates (pilot)

This group will use the funding to run an event at the Langport Festival, where they will provide a community choir, taster sessions and training in visitor safety and support for volunteers, some of whom have a wide range of abilities and needs. This will bring the community together and increase social interaction.

A shop mobility scooter will be purchased with this funding. This will facilitate access to the shops for community members who otherwise find it difficult or impossible to access these services, reducing isolation and improving people?s quality of life.

Reclaimed Research and Development

This group will use the funding to run a community table tennis club. This will give the members of the wider community a chance to take part in physical activity.

Transport will be provided to physically challenged senior citizens with this funding. People who use the rural club will be able to attend meetings, reducing social isolation.

Rex The King

This is the development of a new facility, replacing the well-used village hall to meet the identified needs of the local community. The new facility will accommodate a wide range of activities for people of all ages, resulting in an increased level of footfall that aims to bring together the community, reduce isolation and improve social networks.

This project will use the funding to deliver a housing needs survey that will guide land use activities in North Barrow. This will ultimately lead to a shared community vision in how North Barrow will grow and change in the future.

This project will use the funding to renovate and improve access to its scout hut. This will enable the organisation to be compliant with current disability legislation and support the needs of new members.

The group will use the funding to deliver a youth club for young people who are living with learning issues. This will engage young people in positive social activities and reduce isolation.

The Somerset Charabanc

The 1,153 residents of Tintinhull and nearby Montacute will benefit from a new village hall. No longer fit for purpose the current hall will be demolished and replaced with a main hall with a stage area, a meeting room, kitchen, toilets, foyer, coffee shop, changing and storage area. The hall will host a wide range of activities including a youth club and volunteering opportunities, while the coffee shop will act as a social hub. The project will combat isolation, loneliness and improve community cohesion.

They will deliver fun, practical and creative sessions to older people staying in hospital, including those with dementia, to improve their physical health, memory, social interaction and wellbeing. Activities will include crafts, music, gardening, reading and dance, with some taking place outside the ward environment. There will be live music workshops and the group will also work with patients and their families to create personal playlists to listen to during their stay.

Save St Martin's

The group will use the funding to deliver a conference in Solihull culminating in the production of a video resource that will focus upon raising awareness of a genetic condition. This will support people living with the effects of CDKL5.

The group will use the funding to replace unsafe play equipment in the playground, used by pupils at playtimes and lunchtimes and children attending community group sessions. This will provide all children with new outdoor play facilities which meet health and safety standards.

The group will use the funding to install a disabled-access toilet and a servery to meet the needs of service users due to lack of facilities within the local area. This will improve access for all and improve community facilities.

Yeovil Table Tennis Club

The group will use the funding to create an activity garden in this rural community. This will allow the beneficiaries to play in a safe environment where they will have the freedom to explore and improve their overall wellbeing.

The funding will be used to develop plans to build a new village hall. The current community hall is beyond repair and is the only public building in the village. The new hall will be accessible to all, helping reduce isolation and will mean more activities can be held in a safe venue with modern facilities. New activities set to be held at the hall will benefit the whole community and will include yoga, a farmer?s market, gardening club and an after school club for children.

Jack the Treacle Eater

Tintinhull Parish Council, near Yeovil will use a development grant to investigate the costs and feasibility of demolishing the existing village hall built in 1953 and replacing it with a slightly larger hall for community use. The village has a population of 1,153 with no local shop or post office. A new larger hall would provide accessible and modern space for clubs for various age groups and interests plus new meeting rooms, kitchen space and coffee shop.
