This will develop the understanding of local school children and commemorate those who have served in the armed forces.

Gate hangers will be replaced and a wall will be repaired with this funding, improving safety of the site and ensuring continued community use.

Vital repairs to a community building will be funded, which will provide disabled access and allow it to meet current fire safety standards.

The funding will be used to deliver a range of activities including youth clubs, sports and advice services covering drugs, debt and alcohol. The project will refurbish their facilities to ensure they meet the needs of the young people and work with other youth organisations in the area to increase resources.

A community consultation will be conducted with this funding, which will determine how to improve the local village hall. This will ultimately lead to improved facilities for the local community to use and enjoy.

The group will use the funding to train 15 volunteers to support and encourage other parents of disabled children. The project will last nine weeks and be delivered by a professional trainer. This will provide prospective befrienders with the confidence and tools to assist other families experiencing difficulties managing their child?s diagnosis and offering practical support to these parents.

This project aims to improve quality of life for people experiencing sight loss, their carers, families and friends, across Somerset and Dorset. Services will be provided through a mobile unit, reaching rural and isolated areas, care homes and retirement villages, with home visits for those who need it. This will include rehabilitation and equipment advice, vision assessments and signposting to other services. Volunteering will be promoted for visually impaired people to support their peers.

The group will use the funding to carry out a community consultation, in order to ascertain the needs of the community in relation to the village hall. This will enable the community to input into the development of the hall, ensuring future changes to the facilities best meet their needs.

The group will use the funding to extend the entrance lobby and install double doors to their village hall, in this isolated rural location. This will improve this community facility by increasing its energy efficiency and providing safer access for all members of the community, especially those living with mobility issues.

A project to improve the quality of life, financial wellbeing and financial resilience of rurally isolated vulnerable people living on low incomes. The project will include drop-in surgeries, appointment based services, and home visits for those most hard to reach. It will offer advice, information and support on issues around money, debt, welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, fuel poverty and budgeting.

Phase 2 Dreaming Places - Taunton Deane.

The group will use the funding to deliver a programme of arts activities, workshops and one to one arts sessions for individuals who experience long-term mental health problems culminating in three full scale pub theatre productions and a total of twenty-five performances. This will provide transferrable employment skills such as project management, team work, publicity and administrative activities as well as improving self-esteem and personal resilience.

The group will use the funding to undertake a community consultation to understand the community?s needs for a community building to be built. This will enable the organisation to build capacity in the community to better serve its beneficiaries.

The group will use the funding to create a green, sustainable community space and building within the school grounds. This will act as a focal point for this rural village community and improve social cohesion; different age groups will be able to use the space to interact, access outdoor gardening and have creative outdoor based experiences.

The group will use the funding to provide parenting and breastfeeding support and information for families within this rural area. This will provide the community with a space to access support and reduce isolation.

The group will use the funding to provide a training programme to develop leadership, self confidence, youth work and life skills in young people who face barriers to accessing opportunities due to the rural area in which they live. This will provide young people with opportunities in the local area to increase their skills.

The group will use the funding to coordinate pop up events to promote their user led disabled peoples and carers organisation in the rurally isolated area. This will enable more people to be able to access the organisations services.

CSP Funding 2014-17

To continue to provide a support service to a rural population that often feels isolated and lacks support services (typically for housing, transport, benefits and safety). It will now increase the scope of support to include severe weather emergency issues. The number of Village Agents will be increased and their level of training increased to cope with their expanded role.

The funding will convert an unused storage building on church land into a new toilet for public use in a community that lacks appropriate and accessible amenities.
