An R&D which will enable Earthfall to better understand the creative approaches and practices required to create a piece of work based on the sensitive subject matter - mental health. They will be collaborating with Cai Tomos and working in partnership with Spin Arts.

Mental Health Matters Wales Ltd in Bridgend will use the grant to hold an event to celebrate World Mental Health Day. This grant for ?1,358 will fund venue hire, a buffet, refreshments, banners, exhibition materials, stationery and volunteer expenses.

The Squirrel's Nest in Bridgend will use the grant to bring together people from the local Men?s Sheds to celebrate their successes so far and encourage new members to join. This grant for ?1,220 will fund refreshments, workshops, materials, travel expenses and a dulcimer kit.

Follow Your Dreams Technology Club in Bridgend will use the grant to hold an event to celebrate their organisations 2nd anniversary. The event will include activities for people who have autism, learning difficulties and social anxiety and their families and friends. This grant for ?2,000 will fund buffet, photo booth, paint and bubble bikes, kinetic sand, sweets and cakes, animal encounter, building bricks and frozen drinks machine.

Sussed Wales in Porthcawl will use the grant to expand the organisation?s volunteer and membership base, provide outreach stalls and community engagement talks, and display campaign messages/informational films within the organisation?s cooperative shop. This grant for ?4,635 will fund volunteer expenses, two laptops, membership development, outreach stalls, talks and events, a television and customer Fairtrade samples.

Neath, Port Talbot and Pyle Dance Club will use the grant to setup their organisation, designed to increase socialising opportunities for 40 members, the majority of whom are older people. This grant for ?4,753 will fund a portable PA system, dance music discs, a laptop, venue hire, a short break, and two day trips.

Porthcawl Sea Cadets will use the grant to purchase equipment to expand the number of younger trainees that can access the water sports activities. This grant for ?3,450 will fund the purchase of a Rigiflex Safety Boat.

Maesteg Canoe Club will use the grant to increase the number of accessible apparatus the club can safely store, encouraging people with disabilities to join the club. This grant for ?1,500 will fund a portable container.

The project involves the leashold transfer of harbourside land from Bridgend County Borough Council, to erect a Maritime Centre. The facility which will include a community hub will be centrally located within the Porthcawl harbour quarter and will provide an all-weather community asset and visitor attraction with an emphasis on Coastal science, maritime history, maritime related sport, fitness, leisure, community learning and employment.

Glanogwr House Activity Group in Bridgend will use the grant to provide a series of activities for up to 20 residents at risk of social isolation. This grant for ?4,920 will fund refreshments, entrance fees, transport, aerobics sessions, art workshops, and knitting workshops.

Electronic Target Facility

The Welsh Chamber Orchestra, WCO, wishes to deliver a concert programme to mark the 40th anniversary of the death of Grace Williams, and a selection of her work will be performed to raise awareness of women working in music. The work of Morfudd Llwyn Owen and a new commission by Eleanor Alberga will also be featured too. Concerts will take place in Beaumaris, Rhyl, Aberystwyth, Harlech, Welshpool and Wrexham, from January to December 2017.

The project will hold a conference to provide advocacy and support for people living with Pernicious Anaemia who are socially isolated at work or in their place of education.

The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP), Cymru / Wales, in Bridgend, will recruit, train and support volunteer workshop facilitators from a range of marginalised communities to broaden the support they provide. The grant, of ?4,375, will fund venue hire, facilitator workshop costs, participant access costs, promotional materials, and mentoring costs.

Mid Glamorgan Area Scout Council will use the grant to improve the facilities available at their outdoor centre, which has been newly approved as a Dark Skies Discovery Site. This grant for ?5,000 will fund a marquee, grass protection, binoculars and tripods, bedside cabinets, picnic benches and seating, hand driers, blinds, payphones, and midge buster.
