Elite Cymru Application

Zillah Bowes is applying for funding to enable her to bring together her two strands of artistic practice through research, learning, mentoring and creating test pieces over a 12 month period. She has been working in film successfully for a number of years and has been developing her practice as a poet. It has come to a critical point where bringing these strands of her work together can take her practice in a new direction.

Following Mair's successful research and development project to develop a script and project plan, the next phase of this project is to create the production - a humorous theatre show based on the works of Ruth Jen Evans, namely Y LADIS.Performers include Mair Tomos Ifans, Carys Huw and Nia Medi, and this production will be performed at the National Eisteddfod at Fenni in August 2016.

Gwilym Morus, Baird and Owain Shiers folk musician aim to research and develop Welsh folk music and history of land rights to create an innovative Welsh incarnation of the show '3 Acres and a Cow', but made relevant to today's society and in particular to Wales. A scratch performance will be shown during the Mach Storytelling Fest and the resource will be captured digitally and be available for future use online. The project will be held during May - June 2016.

The intention is to develop a production to be staged at the National Eisteddfod Abergavenny 2016 and then throughout Wales at various locations.
