A community centre kitchen will be converted into a memory caf? for people living with dementia and their carers. This will create a community hub for people to receive support and share experiences.

The funding will be used to run open access youth sessions and expand the organisation?s reach to more young people in areas of North Birmingham. The project aims to develop young people?s aspirations and build confidence and self-esteem. Staff will offer one to one life coaching sessions to develop action plans including educational and career goals. Whole family support will also be offered in some cases to help parents build positive relationships with their teenagers.

Heritage at the Heart of Sutton Coldfield

This project is the replacement of indoor mats and equipment at the bowling club. This will enable older people to participate in social activities.

This project will engage young people aged 11-25 and older people aged 50 and over, bringing both groups together to break down barriers in order to help improve the community by creating a local hub. Community-based and community-led activities will be developed to increase social inclusion and reduce fear of anti-social behaviour and levels of crime. A calendar of weekly events, including lunch clubs for older people and youth drop ins, will be introduced to help achieve these goals.

The group will use the funding to create a new community caf? facility that will support the needs of people who are experiencing the effects of social isolation as well as providing local meeting facilities for the community.

Sutton Coldfield YMCA aims to deliver outreach activities and interventions to young people aged 10-19 years old living in North Birmingham through this project. Activities will help build youth aspirations and ambitions, giving them skills and confidence to achieve goals. Those involved will play a role in staff recruitment, the shaping of activities and project content. They will also be actively encouraged to become volunteers and peer mentors, participate in leadership roles and engage in events.

The group will use the funding to improve visitor access to its nature facility. This will levels of safety for a space where members of the community can enjoy and learn about nature.

The group will use the funding to purchase equipment, in order to increase their capacity to provide wildlife walks, ornithological demonstrations and training for the community including for older people and those with disabilities. This will enable more beneficiaries to attend these events and benefit from them.

The group will use the funding to run extra-curricular creative workshops for vulnerable young girls in mainstream education. This will give beneficiaries life skills to increase resilience and self-esteem.

The group will use the funding to provide young people with the opportunity to write and record music. This will enable participants to develop their skills and discourage them from participating in antisocial behaviour.

The group will use the funding to run a series of workshops, celebratory events and day trips. This will provide older people with the opportunity to socialise and reduce their sense of isolation.

The group will use the funding to develop an adult mentoring scheme for people suffering the effects of family breakdown, loss, domestic violence, or are victims of crime, depression or who are self-harming. This will enable people with social, emotional and mental health issues to develop better approaches to tackling these issues.

The group will use the funding to create a new play area. This will enable children to participate in extracurricular physical activity, benefiting their wellbeing.

The group will use the funding to stage a three day event providing LGBT families with various workshops and activities. This will enable beneficiaries to engage in a variety of activities and workshops to build positive friendships and support networks.

This is the continuation and expansion of a project that aims to provide education and support sessions to people living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Fibromyalgia Syndrome. The project has been expanded to include outreach work, which will see the educational programme delivered through the local support groups. Beneficiaries will learn techniques and approaches to help manage their condition and improve their wellbeing.

The organisation, based in England, provides advice and support to people suffering from Beh?et's syndrome. They are using the ?8,260 to deliver a conference in Belfast with medical speakers for Behcet patients and the wider medical community in NI and safeguarding courses for volunteers.

The group will use the funding to improve their community room?s kitchen and make it accessible to all members of the community. This will enable continued safe use of this community facility and ensure it meets current buildings legislation.

The group will use the funding to set up an advice caf? to provide health, legal and welfare advice and support to members of the community. This will enable people who are socially isolated with no access to free support the opportunity to connect with their community.

This will improve this community facility by ensuring its safe and continued use.
