This school will use the funding to create a covered outdoor play area for pre-school children, allowing them to participate in increased levels of physical activity.

The project aims to provide activities and services to improve the health and wellbeing of those socially excluded, isolated and at risk of declining health. Current activities will be built and expanded upon, with new targeted programmes. Activities will include chair-based exercises enabling the elderly and those less able, at any age, to keep fit. Expanded activities also include basic literacy and numeracy training for people in long term unemployed or recovery services.

This is a new project which will work with vulnerable women during and after pregnancy, thereby helping to improve outcomes for parents and children and address the need for-one to-one support. Each year 60 or more volunteers will be recruited to support 250 parents-to-be during the life of the project and a specific Home-Start antenatal support training module will be developed for volunteers. The organisation will also work with antenatal maternity services to give parents better support and information.
