Asia Connections

The project has run a user led, voluntary run drop in centre in Rotherham for people who are homeless and/or with multiple and complex needs. Service users will have access to practical help and the support they need for the long-term, not just at a critical point in their lives. They will be given the chance to be in more control of developing future personal goals and identifying opportunities and useful practical solutions to overcome any barriers or issues that may affect them in the future.

The group will deliver a series of health based activities, to include healthy cooking and physical exercise, for older members of the community. This will encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and engage in physical activity, with the aim of reducing health inequalities in the area.

The group will deliver arts activities for black and minority ethnic women. This will provide structured, fun things to do with the aim of reducing social isolation.

The organisation will work with other community groups to showcase positive stories that occur in Rotherham, via an online platform. This will bring the community together to improve cohesion, share good news stories, raise morale and restore local pride.

The project will deliver accredited youth leadership and sports leadership skills programmes to local young people to equip them to volunteer to run activities and events in their communities. This will help young people to develop skills and gain qualifications, and to play a role in strengthening their communities by providing peer led activities.

The school will install outdoor play equipment and surfacing. This will provide a safe and stimulating place to play, with the aim of reducing health inequalities and improving social skills.

The school will implement summer school activities for pupils with the aim of reducing stress, anxiety and social isolation.

Sport for All

The group will deliver activities, such as light exercise and falls prevention workshops, for people with a disability or long term condition and for their relatives and carers. This will provide opportunities to socialise whilst participating in physical activities, with the aim of reducing isolation and promoting wellbeing.

The group will deliver a series of after school clubs, to include computer science, engineering and music. This will provide pupils with new skills, with the aim of raising educational attainment and aspirations and reduce unemployment in the future.

Rotherham Active Ability

The group will visit residential homes and day centres to run music sessions for people living with dementia. The project will use music to stimulate the areas of the brain that are still intact, maintaining communication with people with dementia as the condition progresses through its different stages. The music sessions will improve people's quality of life and wellbeing.

The funding will be used to run three community events, including a summer festival, a carnival and Christmas fayre, for people of all ages in the community. The project aims to encourage people to come together and socialise and build relationships in order to raise the confidence of residents and develop community spirit.

The group will deliver lifestyle and employability workshops for local adults to reduce unemployment and health inequalities in the community.

The funding will be used by an academy to run a series of adult and family activities, including card making, enterprise workshops and parenting skills for members of the school community. The project aims to allow families to participate in creative learning activities whilst discussing issues, in order to improve self-esteem, develop relationships and raise educational attainment.

The school will deliver healthy cooking activities for families and judo, dance and tag rugby for pupils. This will encourage participation in physical activities with the aim of reducing obesity and health inequalities across the school community.

Rotherhams Festival of Stories

The group will deliver a series of health based activities, including swimming and climbing, for transgender members of the community. This will provide access to mainstream activities, with the aim of reducing isolation and promoting wellbeing.

Active Rotherham Communities

The group will redesign their current programme, which will enable them to deliver breakfast club employment and enterprise workshops, for disabled and SEN pupils in the community. This will equip them with skills in teamwork, time keeping and organisation, with the aim of improving employment prospects in the future.

This project is the implementation of a new network system and website, for partners and service users of the citizens advice bureau.

Brinsworth Parish Council

The school will deliver an environment and technology programme which will transform an area of woodland; and encourage pupils, particularly SEN children, to participate in activities and gain a greater understanding of their heritage, with the aim of developing confidence, raising self-esteem and promoting wellbeing.

This project is a series of weekly and holiday activities for young people. This will provide positive diversionary things to do, whilst exploring issues such as bullying and peer pressure, with the aim of reducing crime and antisocial behaviour and raising self-esteem and aspirations.

The group will recruit additional sessional staff to provide support for homeless people or those who are vulnerably housed. This will enable the group to meet the demand for their services, ascertain the needs and priorities of service users and ensure the sustainability of the organisation.

The school will purchase IT equipment so they can deliver internet safety workshops for children and parents, with the aim keeping children safe online and improving behaviours.

The school will deliver after school and holiday activities, to include gymnastics, African drumming, cooking and multi-sports. This will provide a safe place to participate in structured activities, with the aim of reducing childhood obesity.

The school will develop an area of land into an outdoor space to encourage creative play and improve communication and social skills.

YMCA White Rose's Active Eastwood

This project is the delivery of wellbeing activities, including relationship building, wellbeing conversation, sewing and creative arts, for people with mental health issues. This will provide structured, positive things to do at a local venue, with the aim of reducing depression, loneliness and social isolation.

The funding will be used to run a free welfare rights and debt advice drop-in service. The project aims to provide people with advice and information, including help with benefit forms, avoidance of doorstep lenders and housing advice, in order to promote wellbeing and reduce isolation.

This project will run a programme of activities which aim to divert young people away from crime and bring the community together. The activities will create a more cohesive community, as well as improve health, develop skills and raise aspirations of the participants, boosting their chances in life.

The funding will be used to provide fishing activities for isolated older and vulnerable people in the community. The project aims to help people who are socially isolated and face social exclusion to access positive activities which will reduce isolation and build friendships.

This project will use funding to deliver social development activities, including outings and forest school workshops for young members of the Roma community. This will provide structured, diversionary things to do, with the aim of reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

This project is an advice drop in service for disadvantaged members of the community. This will enable people to seek employment online and gain information regarding housing and other local services, with the aim of reducing unemployment and the effects of deprivation in the area.

This project will work with young new migrants from eastern Europe to create a film documentary portraying their identity and experiences. This will dispel the myths and perceptions of migrants in the community, with the aim of developing community cohesion.

This project is the delivery of music based activities for people in the community. This will provide social opportunities to reduce isolation.

This project is the delivery of dental health and nutrition sessions for children and their parents and carers. This will encourage children to look after their teeth and consider what they eat with regards to oral hygiene, with the aim of reducing incidences of hospital visits through tooth decay and promoting wellbeing.

This project will provide practical financial information and mentoring which will enable people in the community to manage their finances successfully.

This project is the delivery of afterschool activities for children and families. This will increase knowledge, awareness and respect for other cultures, traditions and ethnic origins.

This project will provide support to black, minority and ethnic women and girls at risk of and/or experiencing any type of violence (sexual violence, child abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence and trafficking) via early intervention and prevention work. It will deliver advocacy, one-to-one and long term holistic support including safety and risk management, and a peer support programme.

This project will train young volunteers in community leadership, dance leadership and young leaders, with the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification. This will provide beneficiaries with diversionary activities and signpost them to further training or employment, with the aim of reducing anti-social behaviour, crime and fear of crime.

This project is a community caf?, particularly for older people in the area. This will enable people to socialise, whilst obtaining advice and information regarding local services, with the aim of reducing isolation.

This project is a series of cookery, numeracy and job preparation workshops for children and parents who are unemployed. This will provide parents with the skills and confidence to enter employment and enable children and parents to learn together, with the aim of reducing unemployment and raising aspirations.

This project is the delivery of activities for BME families who have children with special needs, to include monthly support sessions, educational trips and a residential visit. This will engage children in therapeutic activities and provide support and respite to parents with the aim of reducing social isolation.

This project is the training of volunteers with learning disabilities so that they can become travel champions. This will enable volunteers to accompany their peers when they need to travel within Rotherham, with the aim of reducing isolation, raising confidence and self-esteem and promoting independence.

Roald Dahl Music Project

This project will provide day trips, arts and crafts and social and recreational community activities for families. This will support parents and families experiencing poor mental health; enabling them to build employment skills and develop relationships within the community to reduce social isolation.

The organisation will use the funding to develop a supporting therapies programme for women who have suffered trauma through domestic violence and addiction. This will improve their emotional health and well-being, support them to manage anxiety, improve their confidence and reduce social isolation.

The school will use the funding to run a programme of adult learning opportunities and parental support initiatives to support parents with poor mental health, low self-esteem and those who have problems with English speaking skills. This will provide families with parental, basic and life skills to improve their family life, confidence levels and engagement with schools.

Clubhouse Extension and Refurbishment

The organisation will use the funding to open a Saturday morning transition club for children who find it difficult and daunting to integrate with their peers, due to low self-esteem, shyness and a lack of confidence. This will reduce class disruption, aggression and displays of bad behaviour and increase cohesion to make a positive impact in the classroom.

The organisation will use the funding to work with people who are lonely, older and those suffering with mental health problems, to contribute to the regeneration of a rundown area in Rotherham town centre. This will create a safer, improved area for the whole community and engage vulnerable people in a positive activity which will raise their confidence, self-esteem and reduce isolation.

Greater Heights 2

The school will use the funding to provide an extensive range of after school physical activities for pupils. This will encourage children to take part in sessions that will increase and improve health and fitness.

The school will use the funding to deliver extra-curricular fun physical activity sessions. This will enable the organisation to target all pupils to take part in the after school sessions, aiming to reduce their obesity levels, increase their self-worth and self-esteem encouraging greater cohesion with their peers.

The organisation will use the funding to continue delivering workshops in arts, drama and dance for young people in the local area. This will reduce anti-social behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse, bullying and racism through the provision of diversionary activities.

Catalyst: Evolve

The organisation will use funding to deliver a series of health based activities, to include physical exercise and mental stimulation, for older members of the BME community. This will encourage beneficiaries out of their homes and participate in exercise and conversation, with the aim of reducing health inequalities and isolation.

The organisation will use the funding to open a charity shop which will include opportunities for people in the early stages of dementia to volunteer at the shop as well receive training in retail sales and health and safety at NVQ level one. This will raise awareness of the impact of dementia as well as improve confidence and skills of volunteers.

The organisation will use the funding to hire a development worker to deliver activities including gardening, carpentry and woodwork for mainly older men within the community. This will increase the skills of beneficiaries, provide them with physical, creative and social activities and intergenerational learning, to help reduce their social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

The organisation will use the funding to support individuals affected by an acquired brain injury to rebuild their lives therapeutic social engagement and counselling. This will provide access to community support and relevant services, counselling and social activities to help tackle problems, manage crisis situations and improve the life skills, confidence and self-esteem of people with ABI and their families.

The school will use the funding to deliver after school clubs for children which will focus on healthy lifestyles and include dance, exercise and cooking sessions. This will promote and encourage healthy lifestyles.

The organisation will use the funding to develop learning disability and autism e-learning packages, in conjunction with beneficiaries. This will enable health professionals to gain a greater understanding of how to make services more inclusive.

This new project covering Hull and Grimsby will provide practical advocacy, tenancy support, mediation and intervention with private landlords and statutory agencies, to support EU migrants in terms of their legal rights as tenants.

The school will use the funding to deliver a series of new afterschool and holiday activities for young people and their families. This will provide free activities for the local community in an area with high levels of deprivation to reduce boredom and isolation, and enable families who are recent arrivals to the UK to meet new people, gain confidence, and learn new skills to help them into further training or employment.

The organisation will use the funding to offer activities during the school holidays. This will provide positive activities to divert young people from anti-social behaviour.
